Weekly insights to help you excel and thrive in Canada 🇨🇦

Hey guys,

We’ve just finished reading the 290-page Future of Jobs Report 2025 , and we need to share something with you that's keeping us up at night.

Out of every 100 workers by 2030, 11 will need training to survive the shift to AI-driven work... but won't receive it.

That's 120 million people globally who'll be left behind—not because they lack capability, but because they won't take action or won't get the investment they need.

🚨 Numbers of the future

40% of employers will reduce headcount where AI can automate.
77% will invest heavily in upskilling the workers they keep.
11 out of 100 workers will need training but won't get it.

Insight: Companies are choosing who's worth investing in. Make sure you're in that group.

💡 The Good News

While 92 million jobs will disappear by 2030, 170 million new jobs are being created. That's a net gain of 78 million jobs.

And every single skill that'll make you irreplaceable is completely free to learn today. We’ll share how in our next week’s newsletter!

🎯 The 10 Skills That Will Make You Irreplaceable

1. AI Literacy

You don't need to become a programmer. You need to understand what AI can and can't do, when to use it, and how to check its work. Think of it like learning to drive—you don't need to know how the engine works, just how to operate the car safely.

2. Networks and Cybersecurity

More companies going digital means more ways to get hacked. Understanding basic security isn't just for IT anymore—it's for everyone handling company data.

3. Creative Thinking

Here's the thing: AI can't truly create new ideas. It can only remix what already exists. Your ability to think of genuinely new solutions - that's gold.

4. Resilience, Flexibility, and Agility

It's about adapting when things change. And things are changing. A lot. The people who can roll with the punches are the ones who'll make it.

5. Curiosity and Lifelong Learning

More people are taking training now than two years ago (50% vs 41%). But here's the catch—that only helps if you're one of them. Staying curious isn't optional anymore.

6. Leadership and Social Influence

This one jumped the most in importance—the biggest increase of ANY skill. Why? Because half of all workers will need to switch roles, and someone needs to guide that change. Even if you're not a manager, being able to influence and lead matters.

7. Talent Management

Companies' biggest problem isn't technology—it's finding and developing good people. If you can identify potential in others and help them grow, you're valuable anywhere.

8. Analytical Thinking

AI can give you mountains of data. But turning that data into smart decisions? That's still on humans. And it's the #1 skill employers want.

9. Dependability and Attention to Detail

As AI starts making more mistakes (yes, it does), the humans who can catch those mistakes and ensure quality become more important, not less.

⚠️ The Trap Nobody's Talking About

The chaos is actually slowing down. Companies felt overwhelmed in 2020, but now things feel more stable. The report hints that we shouldn’t believe it.

This isn't stability—it's the calm before the next wave. GenAI is just getting started. Automation is accelerating. This is the eye of the hurricane, not the end of the storm.

The smart move is to keep learning like the storm is still raging. Because it is.

🎯 Your Action Plan

Here's what you need to do this week:

1. Pick ONE skill from the list above Not five. Not three. One. Master it over the next 90 days.

2. Audit yourself honestly Which third are you operating in? Human-only work? Machine work? Or human-AI collaboration? If you're not in all three zones, you're limiting your opportunities.

3. Start building your edge now. Boost helps you uncover your strengths, translate them into the language employers understand, and see exactly where to grow next — so you stay relevant, confident, and ahead of automation.

💰 More Hidden Opportunities

Here’s where the report says the real growth is: Farmworkers (+34M jobs), delivery drivers, construction workers and trades, nursing aides. While everyone’s chasing AI jobs, frontline worker tools and training are massively underserved.

Growing manual roles include: Drafters, Engineering and Mapping Technicians, Electrotechnology Engineers, Mechanics, Machinery Repairers, and Solar Energy Installation Engineers.

The key insight for trades: Traditional trades aren't dying—they're evolving. The trades that combine hands-on skills WITH technology (like solar installation engineers, electrotechnology engineers) are growing, while pure manual labor trades are declining.
