💵 Jobs With The Highest Demand Right Now

We've been digging through the latest StatsCan data and industry reports, and here's what we found: the job market might be cooling overall, but certain roles are absolutely on fire right now.

🤑 Finance hiring is exploding. Financial advisors saw 121% growth—the highest of any occupation in Canada. It looks like Banks and investment firms can't hire fast enough.

Anastasia’s note: this makes sense - Canada’s financial sector is among top 5 biggest sectors in Canada, and in the times of economic uncertainty demand for these roles rises. Financial Advisor is also one of the most recession-proof jobs, as people turn to them during both - the good and the bad times.

🥸 HR managers and Database Analysts also saw strong bumps with over 50% job postings growth.

💻 Tech Roles Still Dominate (Despite the Headlines) 88% of Canadian tech leaders report struggling to find qualified candidates, with 45% actively recruiting for new permanent roles.

The skills gap is massive in:

  • AI and machine learning

  • Cybersecurity and privacy

  • Cloud solutions

  • ERP/CRM development

🛠 Trades have the best odds. Jobs requiring trade certification have a ratio of just 1.8 unemployed people per vacancy—compared to 4.9 for roles requiring a bachelor's degree. The contributing factor here is the challenges young apprentices are facing in getting their respective training. To address the government offers loans to those who are starting out.

Art, culture, recreation and sport were the only sectors to see an increase in job vacancies (+9.5%). As the winter and holiday time approaches, expect more cultural activities to take place. These jobs are often seasonal or contract.
